Ferris Wheel

There's a Ferris wheel outside our window. And I know it sounds like a page from a novel, but we do. Literally. Isn't that creepy? A Ferris wheel just a few kilometers away from your house that can be seen right from your living room window.

Oh, and the creepier thing about all this, is that I've never seen the stupid Ferris wheel move. Never. I pass by our window all the time on purpose just to check if finally some kid has tried the thing, but no. No one has given up a dime to ride the thing. And that, for me, is the creepiest thing because then this poor Ferris wheel exists for nothing. Its very purpose, the very reason why it has been created is beaten, right down the ground, into dust, stepped on by people who never care.

The Ferris wheel was created to make people happy, to help them appreciate things, to allow them the beauty of a sunset or a fresh breath of air even for just a few seconds. Sadly, this Ferris wheel never, ever gets to do the very core of its purpose and existence because nobody rides in it, because it's rusty and full of dirt, because its owners don't care.

End of story.

Te Ai, 'yun nga eh! Kaya nga ako kinakabahan 'pag nakikita ko 'to.
